About Us
Dr. Paul Balboni is a 1989 graduate of Michigan State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. He has concentrated on small animal medicine, surgery and dentistry throughout his veterinary career. After working in a southern Maine veterinary practice, Dr. Balboni joined the Animal Hospital of Waterville in 1993. Dr. Balboni bought the practice in January 2003.
Dr. Nicole Rice is a 1991 graduate of the University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed the IVAS acupuncture course in 2001. She currently practices acupuncture on small animals, as well as traditional small animal veterinary medicine.
Dr. Heather MacMillan is a 1998 graduate of Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, Canada. After 4 years of mixed practice in Pennsylvania and Maine, she now focuses on small animal medicine and surgery.
Dr. Hannah Packard grew up in Maine, and knew she wanted to be a veternarian when she was three or four and could not even pronounce the word! She loved the state so much, she came straight back here after she finished vet school on Prince Edward Island in 2018 at the Atlantic Veterinary School. Internal Medicine is one of her favorite focuses of continuing education. Outside of the world of vet med, she enjoys being at the coast, baking, reading, spending time with her family, and marvel movies.
Stacy is a Licensed Veterinary Technician, born and raised in Waterville. Graduated from the University of Maine in Orono, with an associates degree in animal science, in 1991. Was employed at the Animal Hospital of Waterville after graduation, but ended up moving away. Eventually moved back to the area and was re-hired at the Animal Hospital of Waterville in 2008.
Rachel has been a part of the Animal Hospital family since 2008. She lives in Clinton with her husband, daughter and numerous fur babies.
Cassandra has been working for Animal Hospital of Waterville as a veterinary assistant since 2015. She graduated from University of Vermont in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science, spent a few years working various animal related positions and then went back to school and received a second Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology in 2014 from Unity College. She lives with her cat and enjoys wildlife and the outdoors.
Callie has been working as a veterinary technician at the Animal Hospital of Waterville since 2020. She graduated from UMA Bangor with a bachelors degree in veterinary technology in 2021. She enjoys outdoor activities, spending time with family/friends, and playing with her spunky cat named Sparta.
Danika is a Licensed Veterinary Technician who joined us in 2022 after her internship with us. She graduated in 2022 from the University of Maine at Augusta with a bachelors degree in Veterinary Technology. She enjoys reading, playing video games, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
Melissa joined the Animal Hospital team in 2021 as a veterinary assistant. She enjoys working with animals and spending time with her family.
Nicole started working in animal care in 2018 and joined the Animal Hospital of Waterville in 2021 as a veterinary assistant. She lives with her fiance, 10 cats, 2 dogs and enjoys spending her free time fishing and camping with her family.
Melinda joined us in 2020 as a veterinary assistant. She enjoys rehabilitating sick animals. On her days off, she loves going to the ocean.
